description:	The epitope contained a C-terminal cys, presumably added for convenience of conjugation. The anti-peptide antibody was able to capture HBV e antigen complexed to human polyclonal anti-HBe. The antibody is able to detect HBe immune complexes formed in human sera from patients with chronic active hepatitis.
