The epitope specific mAb cross-reacted with membrane protein extracts of BHK-21 or A549 cell lysates. At least one band was identified as Hsp60. Similar results were obtained with immunofluorescent staining, immunoprecipitation and FACS. The binding to BHK-21 cells was inhibited with the epitope in a dose -dependent manner.
