Aldehyde modification of peptide immunogen enhances protein-reactive antibody response to toxic shock syndrome toxin-1.
|
| description: |
Carbonyl tags were introduced to the immunizing peptide by Amadori reaction with glycolaldehyde, and the aldehyde-modified peptide was used to immunize rabbits. The ability of antiserum to neutralize the biological activity ofTSST-1 was assessed by its effect on the superantigen induced proliferation of mouse splenocytes. Stimulationin the presence of TSST-1 was not inhibited in the presence of the antiserum generated to the modified peptide.
