Locations of antibody binding sites within conserved regions of the hepatitis C virus core protein.
|
| description: |
The amino acid sequence of the HCV core was derived from the sequence of a U.S. HCV clone.
Fine mapping of human reactivities to HCV core protein, using omission peptide analogs covering large regions of the protein (11-28, 21-38, 1-38, and 51-98) between residues 1-118, was used to identified six antibody binding sites. All binding sites were found to be mainly hydrophilic, except for the 29-34 site.
