Epitope specific mAb R145 detected classical scrapie, of the BSE isolate and the upper fragments of atypical scrapie before PK digestion. However, after PK digestion, the atypical scrapie cases were no longer detected. Species tested and recognized by this mAb include sheep and cattle PrP.
