Hemagglutination of neuraminidase-treated human erythrocytes by Leishmania enriettii infected guinea-pig sera.
description:
Hemagglutination of neuraminidase-treated human erythrocytes by immune guinea pig sera was inhibited by the epitope. Hemagglutination by normal guinea pig sera, which occured to a lesser extent compared with immune sera, was also inhibited by the epitope. Because the disaccharide lactose also inhibited the hemagglutination reactions, the 1-4 sugar linkage may be an important part of the epitope.
