| name: |
Identification of continuous B-cell epitopes on the protein moiety of the 58-kiloDalton cell wall mannoprotein of Candida albicans belonging to a family of immunodominant fungal antigens.

| description: |
Mice immunized with the epitope-KLH conjugate reacted with the epitope in a dose-dependent fashion. The epitope in solution inhibited the the binding of the anti-C-terminal peptide sera to the epitope. PepScan analyses with a panel of overlapping dodecapeptides or octapeptides spanning the sequence of the C. albicans mp58 protein showed that reactivity of the anti-peptide sera was limited to peptides from the C-terminal region (NSHCHTHADGEV, HCHTHADGEVHC, THADGEVH, and HADGEVHC).
