description:	Author deduced epitope this epitope is found in glycoprotein D from both human herpesvirus 1 and 2. Through reactivity of overlapping peptides (272-284 gD-1 and 266-279 gD-1) with mAb DL6, the epitope was deduced. DL6 also reacted with 264-285 gD-2, but did not recognize a gD-1 point mutation of P273S.
