Successful use of oligopeptides as immunogens in the preparation of antisera to immediate-early gene products of herpes simplex virus type 1.
|
| description: |
Antisera from rabbits immunized with the epitope conjugated to BSA immunoprecipitated the 175 kDa immediate-early gene product (IE175) from HSV-1-infected cells. The antisera also immunoprecipitated the early E136'143 protein, which the authors attributed to co-precipitation rather than a specific reaction. The antisera did not react with the HSV-2 IE175 equivalent protein of 182 kDa. Preincubation of the antisera with the epitope blocked recognition of IE175.
