Induction of eczematous skin reaction in experimentally induced hyperplastic skin of Balb/C mice by monoclonal anti-DNP IgE antibody: possible implications for skin lesion formation in atopic dermatitis.
|
| description: |
Transfer of monoclonal anti-DNP IgE antibodies induced a biphasic skin reaction in recipients with an early (1 h) and late (24 h) response peak. Genetically mast cell-deficient W/Wvv mice did not show an early or late skin reaction, demonstrating that mast cells are required for IgE-mediated skin reactions. Anti-DNP IgE antibodies induced focal eczematous skin reactions with spongiosis, mast cell degranulation, and mononuclear cell infiltration in retinoic acid pre-treated mice in response to DNFB.
