| name: |
Heat treatment of serum and plasma induces false positive results in the antiphospholipid antibody ELISA.
|
| description: |
All of the sera were negative when the ELISA was performed with unheated sera. Heating of these sera for 30 minutes at 56ºC resulted in a positive IgM anti-cardiolipin level in 5 sera tested. The phenomenon is dependent on duration and degree of heating. Pooled normal serum was also tested.
