name:
Effects of simvastatin on circulating autoantibodies to oxidized LDL antigens: relation with immune stimulation markers.
description:
The epitope sequence was cited in Fredrikson et al. Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol. 2003 May 1
23(5):872-8. Epub 2003 Mar 20 [PMID:12649091].
No difference was seen in IgG and IgM levels in simvastatin treated and untreated individuals. IgM response was overall higher than IgG response. A malondialdehyde (MDA)-modified epitope was used as antigen. Serum from healthy donors recognized the peptides from autoantigens.
