The antiserum was able to stain synovial tissue sections of Norwegian HLA-B27+ patients with ankylosing spondylitis (12 patients) or reactive arthritis (2 patients). The antiserum did not react with tissue sections from 7 HLA-B27- patients with reactive arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis.
