Only 5 of 98 patients with SLE (5%) demonstrated anti-cardiolipin IgM. A breakdown of clinical associations within this SLE group showed increased IgM ACA were found in 2% (systemic sclerosis) to 13% (false positive VDRL) of other control groups.
