description:	Epitope-specific Ab was detected in four of five sera from the SLE patients. IgG and IgM were measured collectively. Nuclear magnetic resonance imaging showed 'infarct-like' lesions in these four patients. None of the CSF samples had detectable epitope-specific Ab. The authors suggested that a correlation between serum epitope-specific Ab and cerebral infarcts in central nervous system lupus may potentially exist.
