Laboratory and clinical features in systemic lupus erythematosus patients with or without anticardiolipin antibodies.
|
| description: |
No relationship was found between anti-epitope (aCL) binding levels and activity of the disease and no correlation was observed between aCL positivity and the treatment regimen (steroids, immunosuppressive or antimalarial drugs, oral anticoagulants and aspirin). A statistically significant association was found between the presence of either lupus anticoagulant (LA) or biological false positivity for syphilis (BFP-VDRL) and aCL positivity. The number of arterial complications was statistically higher in aCL-positive patients than in aCL-negative patients.
