Mice immunized with the epitope construct exhibited a 59% reduction in birth rate controlled to the control group. Animals with the highest anti-ZP3 titres did not become pregnant. This decrease in birth rate was reversible, when male mice were re-introduced to female mice 24 weeks after the first trial, fertility rates were comparable to the control group.
