| description: |
The epitope was deduced.
Rabbit antiserum against the related species, D. farinae, was absorbed with each of seven fusion proteins containing overlapping peptides. The changes in reactivity of antigenic peptides after absorption was assessed using dot blot radioimmunoassay and the results were used to deduce regions responsible for antibody reactivity. The epitope, region 60-72, was inferred because absorption of 60-111 abrogated reactivity to the cross-absorptive peptides 48-72 and 57-81.
