Anticardiolipin antibodies in eclampsia.
|
| description: |
Four of twenty women (20%) with eclampsia tested positive for anti-cardiolipin antibodies (ACA) by microfloculation assay. All four of these women were negative for syphilis. Three of the four had lupus anticoagulant antibodies. Three patients had a gestational age between 28 and 33 weeks and one was more than 34 weeks. All ACA positive women were primiparous and none gave birth to live babies.
