Identification of immunodominant VP1 linear epitope of enterovirus 71 (EV71) using synthetic peptides for detecting human anti-EV71 IgG antibodies in Western blots.
|
| description: |
Epitope mapping was performed using overlapping peptides and serum samples collected from children attending a pediatric outpatient clinic at the National University Hospital of Singapore. The samples were screened for the presence of anti-Enterovirus 71-neutralizing antibodies. In a further experiment, the most reactive peptide containing the core epitope region (DLPLEGTTNPNGYAN) was tested as a capture antigen for human anti-Enterovirus 71in ELISA and western blot assays. No significant immunoreactivity was detected by ELISA, while reactivity was detected in western blots.
