name:
Structure of IgE epitopes on a new 39-kD allergen molecule from the house dust mite, Dermatophagoides farinae.
description:
The authors deduced that pooled IgE sera from 10 mite-allergic patients and individual patient sera reacted with the epitope sequence in a deletion analysis of expressed overlapping fragments of Mag1. Single amino acid glycine-substitutions at positions 104-115 established that residues D104, E106, S108, R110, S111, S112, and D113 were critical for IgE binding, with R110 being the most important.
