Isotypic humoral responses to the peptide were studied according to sex. In males showing a low intensity of infection, only the mean IgG3 response against the epitope was stronger than that observed in the high-intensity infection group. However, this finding and the correlation withSchistosoma mansoni 28-kDa GST enzymtic inhibition were not statistically significant. No differences were observed in the levels of IgG3 response to the epitope in the female population.
