Conjugates of synthetic cyclic peptides elicit bactericidal antibodies against a conformational epitope on a class 1 outer membrane protein of Neisseria meningitidis.
|
| description: |
The epitope is cyclized. Amino acid positions differ because the database sequence includes the signal polypeptide.
All antisera generated against this epitope demonstrated bactericidal activity. The antisera in all mice included subclasses IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, and IgG3. The presence of subclasses other than IgG1 appears to correlate with anti-bactericidal activity.
