A BLAST search failed to locate an exact match for this epitope under this specific strain. Because the sequence was generated after sequencing the strain-specific protein antigen, it is assumed that it is truly a natural sequence. Therefore an internal IEDB source was assigned for this influenza source protein.
The identification of HA determinants was performed using MALDI-MS analysis by comparing the relative areas for ion signals of antibody-treated and untreated antigen samples across both spectra. An absolute reduction of at least 15% in relative area reflects a signal for an antigenic peptide.
