Analysis of antibody responses to predominant linear epitopes of Theiler's murine encephalomyelitis virus.

| description: |
The amino acid positions from the paper refer to the mature VP1 protein, which is processed from the polyprotein that is represented in the database.
Sera from SLJ/J mice intracerebrally infected with TMEV reacted strongly with this epitope in immunoblots and in ELISA assays. In intracerebrally infected SLJ/J mice, which are highly susceptible to TMEV, only reactivity to this B-cell epitope was seen, though sera from mice immunized with UV-inactivated TMEV, who did not develop infection, did have reactivity to other epitopes. Anti-epitope antibody in intracerebrally infected mice was of subclasses IgG1, IgG2a, and IgG2b.
