| name: |
IgE and IgG cross-reactivity among Lol p I and Lol p II/III. Identification of the C-termini of Lol p I, II, and III as cross-reactive structures.
|
| description: |
At high concentrations, the epitope or purified Lol p III inhibited rabbit anti-Lol p I serum from binding to the homologous C-terminal peptide residues 216-240 (EGGTKSEVEDVIPEGWKADTSYSAK) from Lol p I coupled to Sepharose. Using overlapping peptides from the C-terminus of Lol p III, the region responsible for cross-reactivity was mapped to residues 66-80 (FRFLSKGGMKNVFDEF). Lol p III (81-97) also inhibited binding to Lol p I (216-240). The authors attribute the inhibition by Lol p III to contamination with Lol p I because of the high concentration required.
