Middle ear fluids from six of seven experimentally infected chinchillas had moderate to high reactivity to this peptide in an SPR assay. In one reactive chinchilla in which the results from both ears were presented, the fluid from the right ear had only weak reactivity to the epitope compared to high reactivity from left ear fluid.
