This peptide and another octamer from P1, DVVGVGRL at reference positions 1303-1310, are defined by the same mAb. Numbering of amino acids in the paper is with reference to the mature protein, which has a 59 aa signal peptide present in the accession sequence.
Epitope-specific monoclonal antibody inhibited the adherence of M. pneumoniae to sheep red blood cells. In an immunofluorescence assay, the antibody showed fluorescence on the tip-structure of M. pneumoniae.
