description:	The sequence appears in the reference Kyd et al. (2003) Infect Immun 71:4691 [PMID: 12874350]. The authors state that this epitope is identical in the two strains discussed in the paper, NTHi 1128 and 86-028NP. Chinchillas immunized with the LB1 peptide construct containing the P5 fimbrin epitope linked to a variant measles virus T-cell epitope developed antibody against a slightly larger fimbrin peptide containing the epitope. Antisera was also tested against other non-overlapping peptides within the fimbrin protein and, as expected, did not react with these.
