description:	The epitope is a mimotope of B. pseudomallei exopolysaccharide. Serum from mice immunized with the epitope conjugate recognized B. pseudomallei and B. mallei whole cells but not B. thailandensis. Digestion of B. pseudomallei with pronase did not affect antibody binding, suggesting the immune serum recognizes a non-protein epitope.
