name:
Generation and characterisation of functional recombinant antibody fragments against RNA replicase NIb from plum pox virus.
description:
The epitope of mAb 2A was determined to be within the C-terminal region (residues 476-518) of NIb by Western blot analysis of deletion mutants. The epitope was further deduced through study of overlapping peptides covering the region 479-517. The minimal epitope (YLEAFY) was assigned based on the region of overlap. Antibody construct scFv2A also reacted with peptides lacking the Tyr and Leu in positions 1 and 2 of the epitope, indicating the residues are not essential.
