Peptide mimotopes as prototypic templates of broad-spectrum surrogates of carbohydrate antigens.
|
| description: |
The anti-peptide reacted with pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide antigens prensent in the 23-valent vaccine and with Pn serotype 25. Multiple immunization protocols were tested and titers were determined at either 7 weeks after priming or one week after boosting. The highest level of IgG3 resulted from two doses of peptide conjugated to BSA. Priming with BSA-conjugated peptide and boosting with pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide type 14 (Pn14) produced higher levels of Pn14-reactive IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3 than priming and boosting with Pn14.
