description:	The epitope, which reacted with MAb 18, inhibited binding of the antibody to the virus FMDV type A10. The truncated peptide VRMKRA, which is hidden in the intact virion, did not inhibit binding. The peptides were synthesized with a C-terminal Cys residue.
