The epitope of mAbs 7SF3 and 6HE4 was deduced based on their reactivity with VP1 13 kd fragment (residues 55-179) and a construct containing a tandem repeat of residues 137-167 and their lack of reactivity with the N-terminal 16 kd fragment (residues 1-144).
