name:
Identification of an immunodominant neutralizing and protective epitope from measles virus fusion protein by using human sera from acute infection.
description:
All of the 18 human serum samples reacted with the peptide. The mean titers against this epitope were 1/3,200. Fine mapping studies showed that the 15-mer epitope was the minimal/optimal peptide for human sera. Moreover, reactivity with the epitope was abolished if the cysteine residues [C390, C395 and C397] were replaced with serine residues. This sequence is conserved in all morbilliviruses.
