Reactivity of anti-peptide and anti-poliovirus type 3 monoclonal antibodies with synthetic peptides.
|
| description: |
The epitope was synthesized with N- and C-terminal Cys residues.
The epitope-specific mAb NIB735 neutralized the virus. Mutant viruses with single amino acid substitutions at residues D91, N92, E93, Q94, P95, T96, or A99 and Q100 were resistant to neutralization, suggesting the antibody recognizes an epitope formed by the two ends of the peptide. MAb NIB735 also reacted with the virus by ELISA.
