A hemagglutinin-derived peptide-vaccine ignored by virus-neutralizing passive antibodies, protects against murine measles encephalitis.

| description: |
Adult mice were injected (passive immunization) with protecitve levels of anti-MV (Edmonston strain) antibodies. Within one hour these mice were actively immunized with a TTB chimera consisting of two copiees of the MV F421-435 T cell epitope and one copy of the MV H236-250 peptide (containig the minimal B cell epitope). The chimera induced B cell epitope-specific antibodies (BCE H236-250) showing that the vaccine construct can generate specific antibodies in the presence of pre-existing passive or maternal antibodies.
