description:	The epitope was synthesized with an added N-terminal Tyr-Gly-Gly and a C-terminal Gly residue. The epitope primed rabbits for a weak cross-neutralizing IgG response against poliovirus type 2. Serum from a rabbit immunized with the epitope-BSA conjugate followed by inoculation with poliovirus type 2 weakly neutralized type 2 virus. The antiserum also immunoprecipitated type 2 virions.
