Tailspike-specific mAbs were used against tailspike mutants to map epitopes on the wild-type protein. The disruption of binding following mutations at these residues suggested that they play a role in binding on the native protein. Kd values for mAbs 33, 175 and 236 were , 3nM, 0.1nM and 0.1nM, respectively. These mAbs preferentially recognizes native conformation.
