The epitope-specific mAbs 7SF3 and 6HE4 neutralized the parent FMDV A12 LPab strain, but did not neutralize the large plaque and small plaque variants A12 LPb, A12SP, or A12LPc, which all have substitutions of Pro at position 2 of the epitope sequence. The mAbs also bound to the 140S virus particles and 12S subunits.
