MAb 4G07 neutralized the virus in a plaque reduction assay. The critical epitopic residues recognized by the mAb were determined by sequence analysis of neutralization-resistant variants selected with the mAb. Variants with mutations D87N or N88K in VP1 were not neutralized by the mAb. The authors conclude that the residues comprise one of five neutralization sites on SVDV.
