MAb 3H02 neutralized the virus in a plaque reduction assay. The critical epitopic residue recognized by the mAb was determined by sequence analysis of neutralization-resistant variants selected with the mAb. Variants with mutation E163K in VP2 were not neutralized by the mAb. The authors conclude that the residues comprise one of five neutralization sites on SVDV.
