description:	The epitopic residues recognized by the mAb were determined by sequence analysis of non-neutralizable variants of FMDV isolated after growth in the presence of mAb. Variants with mutations L146R, L146P, or L149P were not neutralized by the mAb. MAb1.11 was previously shown to bind peptide residues 144-150 (GDLGSLA).
