description:	The epitope-specific mAb 8C6 bound to the Me2 peptide by ELISA and competitive ELISA. Biopanning a peptide library with 8C6 revealed a consensus sequence (TXXR) contained within the epitope, and site-directed mutagenesis demonstrated the key role of the residues T9 and R12 in antibody binding.
