The epitope was determined by binding assays performed against the wild type (Sendai virus (strain Enders)) virus and escape mutant viruses. Loss of recognition by the mAbs was seen with mutations at the epitope. The mAbs tested were of isotypes IgG2a (57), IgG2b (66), IgA (380), and IgG1(42).
