The fusion protein containing the epitope was recognized in WB and ELISA, as it conforms to the 8-mer consensus sequence, K/RPA/RPK/QPA/TP. This is further suported by the recognition of other regions of KEX1 and other proteins containing the putative consensus sequence. The antibody is a switch variant of the original IgM mAb.
