name:
Neutralizing epitopes of human parainfluenza virus type 3 are conformational and cannot be imitated by synthetic peptides.
description:
The peptide was tested for recognition by high-titre human serum samples, and in further studies, with neutralizing murine monoclonal antibodies specific for HN. No reactivity was found in either case, and the authors conclude that these findings suggest that synthetic peptides cannot be used to imitate the known neutralizing epitopes on the HN.
