| name: |
Humanized monoclonal antibodies derived from chimpanzee Fabs protect against Japanese encephalitis virus in vitro and in vivo.
| description: |
Fab were tested in both competitive and non-competitive ELISA for binding to JEV. Binding was detected to JEV, but not to DENV1, DENV2, DENV3, DENV4, WNV or LGTV. Binding competition was not detected among the Fabs nor with Fab 1A5, a broadly flavivirus-reactive antibody that recognizes a conserved loop on the E protein. The Fab therefore defines a new (non-overlapping) site on E.
