name:
Immunogold electron microscopic localization of the 2 EF-hand calcium-binding pollen allergen Phl p 7 and its homologues in pollens of grasses, weeds and trees.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Verdino et al. (2002) EMBO J 21: 5007-5016 [PMID: 12356717].
Rabbit anti-P2 antiserum stained ribwort pollen grains in the pollen wall and the matrix and mitochondria in the cytoplasm as detected by immunogold transmission electron microscopy. Starch grains in weed pollen did not stain with anti-P2 serum. The antiserum reacted similarly with pollen grains from the weeds ragweed and mugwort.
