Reactivity was observed against this epitope using sera from Senegal. IgG1, IgG2 and IgG4 isotype reactivity was also seen, but to a lesser extent. A significant association between the level of anti-epitope antibodies and protection (no malaria attacks in the 2 year period) was made.
